Happy Easter to everyone... actually I should say Happy Spring!! This is by far my favorite time of year because I love flowers and all the new blooms and growth that happens in the spring. It's just a beautiful awakening of life after the sleepiness of winter.
This spring has been especially lovely with our backyard being newly landscaped with a stacked planter box against the back fence that I have filled with all kinds of fun plants that I don't usually plant. I've got gardenia, Carolina Jessamine vines, hibiscus, pygmy palms, cape honeysuckle, cana lilies, along with the usuals like petunias, snap dragons, geraniums... yada yada yada. To say the least, when it all fills is with full growth it will be a tropical paradise... I hope. I just love to do the planting too. I know that sounds crazy, but I enjoy being outside in the beautiful spring weather that we've had. Anyway, there are a few things we still need to finish up with, but all it all it is great.
And Easter. Easter was fun as always. Saturday we have our annual White family Easter egg hunt and brunch. Good food, good family, good fun!! Can't beat that. This year the kids even dyed eggs... not so fun for mom to have to clean up on new clothes. It's always fun to chat with extended family that I just love. To top it off, my mom hides a few $ eggs for the adults to find. Bill found a $10 egg. SWEET. That's better than candy for sure.
Later Saturday afternoon/evening, we went to the Thompson's for a BBQ and another egg hunt. (Really there just can't be too many egg hunts!) The kdis enjoy being with cousins and running around wild in Grandma's backyard.

Dying Easter Eggs
Let the hunting begin!!
Crew would find and egg or rock (whatever looked like a ball) and throw it. He found out after throwing a few eggs that there was candy in them! Crew thought that was pretty cool so he started throwing all the eggs to get the candy out!
Hunting at G-ma Judy's with all the local Thompson cousins
Easter Sunday, the girls wore their new dresses and gloves to church and the boys sported new ties. Super cute. It was a fairly low key day which was nice. We went to dinner again at Bill's mom's house where she treated all the adults to a kid free dinner. It was truly a treat. Bill's parents sat with the kids during dinner and fed any small ones that needed help while the mom's and dad's ate peacefully together in the other room. Adult conversation without kid interruption. Wow, it was almost like a group date without leaving. It really was nice, so thanks again Bill and Judy!
