HaPpY EaSTeR!!! and HaPPY SpRinG!

Happy Easter to everyone... actually I should say Happy Spring!! This is by far my favorite time of year because I love flowers and all the new blooms and growth that happens in the spring. It's just a beautiful awakening of life after the sleepiness of winter.

This spring has been especially lovely with our backyard being newly landscaped with a stacked planter box against the back fence that I have filled with all kinds of fun plants that I don't usually plant. I've got gardenia, Carolina Jessamine vines, hibiscus, pygmy palms, cape honeysuckle, cana lilies, along with the usuals like petunias, snap dragons, geraniums... yada yada yada. To say the least, when it all fills is with full growth it will be a tropical paradise... I hope. I just love to do the planting too. I know that sounds crazy, but I enjoy being outside in the beautiful spring weather that we've had. Anyway, there are a few things we still need to finish up with, but all it all it is great.

And Easter. Easter was fun as always. Saturday we have our annual White family Easter egg hunt and brunch. Good food, good family, good fun!! Can't beat that. This year the kids even dyed eggs... not so fun for mom to have to clean up on new clothes. It's always fun to chat with extended family that I just love. To top it off, my mom hides a few $ eggs for the adults to find. Bill found a $10 egg. SWEET. That's better than candy for sure.

Later Saturday afternoon/evening, we went to the Thompson's for a BBQ and another egg hunt. (Really there just can't be too many egg hunts!) The kdis enjoy being with cousins and running
around wild in Grandma's backyard.

Dying Easter Eggs

Let the hunting begin!!

Crew would find and egg or rock (whatever looked like a ball) and throw it. He found out after throwing a few eggs that there was candy in them! Crew thought that was pretty cool so he started throwing all the eggs to get the candy out!

Hunting at G-ma Judy's with all the local Thompson cousins

Easter Sunday, the girls wore their new dresses and gloves to church and the boys sported new ties. Super cute. It was a fairly low key day which was nice. We went to dinner again at Bill's mom's house where she treated all the adults to a kid free dinner. It was truly a treat. Bill's parents sat with the kids during dinner and fed any small ones that needed help while the mom's and dad's ate peacefully together in the other room. Adult conversation without kid interruption. Wow, it was almost like a group date without leaving. It really was nice, so thanks again Bill and Judy!

look down a little ways for my new updated posts!

Yes it may be a little long, but it is a catch up and since I started it before other posts, blogger put it under older posts. Hummmm to figure this stuff out would be good. But hey... I UPDATED!!

Another Disney Adventure

So we did it again… another fabulous trip to Disneyland! We had a great time with a magical stay in the Disneyland Hotel and swimming in the Neverland pool, eating breakfast with Goofy and friends at Goofy’s Kitchen, sitting in the FRONT of the California Screamer, riding the monorail to and from the park, and the girls had a blast at club Libby Lu for makeovers!!! Good fun!

Of course there are Thompson family adventures around every corner even through our 7 hour ride home with GPS(…it should have taken only 5 1/2 to 6 hrs let's just say that before we even left Riverside we heard "recalculating" about 4 times! ). Anyway, Blake threw up twice (once out the window- the cars behind us were probably swerving all around) and Ashlyn threw up once (which Bill threw out the window going 100 MPH- nice- you could say our car needs a wash). After the 3rd throw up clean up stop, we gave the kids bags and had regular “throw up drills” kind of like fire drills only with throw up! This was a “just in case you feel like you have to throw up, grab your bag that’s hanging on the hook just above you.” The kids would practice pretend barfing into the bags whenever we would have a sporadic drill. Yep, good times.

Catch Up!!

So it's been a while since my last post and I realize I am long overdue. So how do I catch up? Well, I guess I'll have to start with December and Christmas.... it was lovely. We had a great adventure to the Polar Express. We went with our friends the Morris Family up North for a chilly weekend.
The kids had a great time meeting with Santa, eating cookies and hot chocolate and being up North while it was snowing.

Christmas day was busy as usual. We had family from out of town with us which always makes the holidays that much more special. And when family is in town you know what that calls for??!!! FAMILY PICTURES!! YIKES!

February:

President's Day Weekend we had a great adventure with tubing and skiing at Sunrise. Emma was no fear with sledding! She was feeling good and having a great time. Crew was cold and not loving it as much. Ashlyn got snow down her pants and Blake was trying some jumps. A snow mouse was built (in honor of Mickey of course) and a good time was had by all. AND to top it off, we had cousins with us which made it all the more fun!!!

Bill and I took Blake and Ashlyn up to the slopes after sledding. This was Blake's 2nd time boarding and Ashlyn's first time on skis. They both did great. Boarding is a bit more challenging an you spend a lot more time on your rear that actually going down the mountain, so Blake tired out much quicker than Ashlyn. I was totally surprised how well Ashlyn did and the best part was that she LOVED IT and didn't want to stop!! Ashlyn and I did a few runs by ourselves since Blake was too beat to go down the mountain anymore. We really had a fantastic time!!
