Emma's Discovery Club parent program

At the end of each unit the parents get to go to the club and have the kids sing/tell us what they've been learning about. This unit was on oceans and land masses. They learned about creatures in the ocean, names of all the oceans and volcanoes. It's amazing what they can learn at such a young age. I hope she can retain it all!

Grandparents for Lunch

Today all parents and grandparents were invited to come to the school and have lunch with the students. The Thompson kids were lucky to have mom and 2 grandparents come! Grandpa Rich and Great Grandma Shirley came on very last minute notice!! It was fun to visit and eat lunch together. We are so greatful for family, especially our grandparents who have set such wonderful examples to us!!

Happy 10th Birthday BLAKE!!

Blake turned 10 today! I can't believe he is a decade old!! Where has time gone? He is growing and growing and sometimes I wish he would just stop! He is a sweet boy. Can I really say that about a boy? Ya, sure why not. Most of the time he is a very caring and loving son and brother. All the time he is the best cousin ever and loves all his cousins. He is so good with other kids and will make a great babysitter. Blake loves to read and has read several Harry Potter books, the Fablehaven series, and some Percy Jackson adventure books. He also enjoys LEGOS! Blake has made some amazing creations and Star Wars ships out of legos. Blake plays the piano and is involved in swim team during the summer, basketball in the winter, and baseball in the spring. He stays pretty busy!! We love you Blake!!!!

Blake's 1st Youth Hunt

This year Bill took Blake on his first hunt. It was a big deal to them. I can't lie, I wasn't as thrilled about it as they were. Blake and Bill took the hunter's safety class and did all kinds of preparation and target practice. The hunt was up north by Jacob Lake, so it was COLD! The boys packed up and Uncle Nathan and cousin Max joined them for Blake's big adventure. I'm happy to say Blake came home empty handed. We are all okay with that.

Thanksgiving Weekend brought lots of Adventures... starting with a girl cousins sleepover!!

THANKSMAS!!! (Thanks-mas... or Thanksgiving-Christmas smashed together) with the Thompson Family


Since all of the Thompson family was in town for Thanksgiving (except Uncle Chad) and wouldn't be together for Christmas, we decided to have Thanksgiving on Thursday as normal and Christmas morning on Saturday. This was all on the same weekend, so we called it all Thanksmas or Christgiving weekend! It was a whirlwind and an all family weekend, but it was GREAT! The kids had so much fun with their cousins that they don't get to see very often and playing and visiting with aunts and uncles. We loved spending the weekend together. (I unfortunately got sick and spent half the weekend in bed feeling like crap while everyone else went out to play, but I survived ..)

The cousins gift exchange...Tyrus had Emma. She loved the gifts he gave her, a Tinker Bell art set and new shirts!
